Whoopie
& Loopie Slings
Both types of slings are made from Samson Tenex 12-strand
The Whoopie Sling
has been around for some time but it still remains a useful adjustable sling, and is so quick and easy to set up.
Available in 1/2" and 5/8" in standard sizes or custom-spliced to your requirements. Rated at 2560lbs as a chocker.

The Loopie Sling

The
loopie on the other hand is a fairly new idea and is
really an adjustable continuous loop, but what a handy bit of kit for
anyone who is into rigging! This is a little gem, ideal for setting
a secondary pulley on a lateral branch for re-directing the rigging
line, or maybe rigging up multiple anchors on a long branch - all of
which helps with the loading on the main pulley - great stuff.
I have found that 1/2"x 4' max circ to be a good all round size
but I will no doubt do them in various sizes as we go on.

Combi Spider Sling
This
versatile sling is a fairly new contender also, it can either be used
singly to make a balancer by attaching the large eye (pic
1) to the rigging rope (with a prussik or klemheist) and the
other end to the branch thus creating an adjustable basket rig
(pic 2).
Or by using a few of them to create multiple tie-off points along the
branch to make a Spider rig, very useful for rigging a branch that is
over a roof or something delicate/ expensive and requires neither the
tip nor the butt end to fall; instead the spider rigging spreads the
load of the rigging line over multiple points along the branch, attached
to the rigging line either by short prussik loops and
karabiners
or to a rigging plate with karabiners, which then allows the branch
to be swung away from the obstacle (with the help of a tagline)
and
lowered in a horizontal plane totally controlled and safe (pics 3 & 4), making
a difficult job a lot easier. The simple ideas are always the best!
This combi spider sling is a must for anyone involved in rigging work.

The Balancer
Another
simple but effective idea - the Balancer is just a
length of rope (Tenex) with a spliced eye at each end, onto which a
prussik loop, made out of Samson Tech 12 (see
Tech 12 Loop) is attached to create an adjustable anchor point (pic
1).
It serves the same purpose as the Combi Spider sling, as a sling for Basket rigging, but with this one you have it all set up ready; just clip it onto your rigging rope, straight off the hip. (pic 2)
13mm x 4m long c/w Tech 12 loop, again this product can be spliced in house to any length and is also available in 5/8" rope

Tech 12 Loop
This is a fantastic rope from Samson called (you guessed
it) Tech 12!
It
is an 8mm 12-strand single braid rope made of "Technora" fibre
with a melting point of 900 degrees Fahrenheit, which combined with
its extremely high strength (8mm has an average breaking
strain of an amazing 5,897 kg) and low stretch make
it an ideal rope for making Prussik loops and to replace wire winch
cable (which would also have a weight benefit, because it only weighs
3lbs per 100', and you would get more on the drum).
Admittedly it does not come cheap; it is a little bit more affordable as Prussik loops, but "you gets what you pay for" as they say out in the sticks here!!
The Tech 12 Loop is a continuous loop 36" in circumference
