What does this course cover?
- Discussion - different types of ATV & their characteristics
- Legal requirements & understanding risk assessment
- Identifying personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Industry guidance and Health and Safety
- Discussing environmental issues
- Identifying / inspecting machine control / components & guarding
- Daily maintenance & pre-start checks
- Riding / driving and handling an ATV on different terrain & surfaces
- Effects of loading & towing with an ATV
- Cleaning / inspection of an ATV after use
What equipment do I need?
- An ATV in good working order (complying with Department of transport & Road Traffic Act where relevant)
- Motorcycle helmet (BS6658) or ATV helmet (BS EN 1384:1997)
- Eye protection (EN166)
- Gloves
- Protective boots with good grip & ankle support
- Non-snag outer clothing
- First Aid kit with large blood-stopper
- Wet weather clothing and packed lunch
What will this cost me? - £80.00 (Prices are based on a minimum of four people per course, if there are less than four people, the cost per person will be higher.)
